Cornell Invitational

Hartwick opened its equestrian schedule with a seventh-place finish at the Cornell Invitational on Sunday.

Sophomore Beth Brandt earned the Hawks’ lone first-place finish at the 12-team invitational, winning the open flat event. She also placed third in the open fence competition.

Erika Mohr (open fences, open flat); Megan McCue (intermediate fences); Laura Clough (intermediate flat); Hannah Wiest (tie, novice flat); Catherine Moore (tie, novice flat); and Victoria Broderick (advanced walk trot canter) contributed second-place finishes for Hartwick, which scored 27 points.

Cornell won with 37 points, edging Skidmore by one.
