Afton’s Winans sets Cazenovia records in assists, steals

Afton graduate Josh Winans finished his senior year for the Cazenovia men’s basketball team as the school’s all-time leader in assists and steals.
Winans scored 22 points in his final college game, a 120-101 loss to Baptist Bible College in the first round of the North East Athletic Conference playoffs Feb. 20. He ended his college playing days with 364 assists and 184 steals. He also scored 793 points over four years with the Wildcats.
Winans, a 5-foot-4 guard, started 25 games for Cazenovia (12-14), averaging 13 points and 6.6 assists.
Kyle Buel
Buel (Franklin) played in 16 games during his freshman season for Morrisville’s basketball team, averaging 3.5 points and 1.8 rebounds.
Buel shot 22-for-57 from the floor as the Mustangs finished 7-18.
Billie Jean Dill
Dill (Unatego), a freshman, competed on the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) women’s wrestling team.
Cumberlands won its second consecutive National Collegiate championship March 10, scoring 106 points to beat Missouri Valley College by 34 points. [an error occurred while processing this directive]
