O-State men’s lacrosse win, 8-2, still unbeaten

George Tsirigotis had two goals and an assist as Oneonta State remained unbeaten with an 8-3 non-conference men’s lacrosse victory over visiting Elmira on Wednesday.

Mike Schanz and Mike Papp contributed a goal and an assist apiece for the Red Dragons (6-0), who scored six goals in the second half.

Brian Tricoles made seven saves for O-State, which had a 41-19 advantage in shots. Oneonta visits Rensselaer at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Pat McCormack had three goals and two assists as host Hartwick rallied for a non-conference victory at home.

Brian Miller contributed three goals, and Steve Caramello had a goal and three assists for the Hawks (2-2).

Hartwick (2-2) trailed, 4-2, after one period, but scored the next six goals. Jason Fautas and John Meade combined for 15 saves.

The Hawks play host to Alfred University in an Empire 8 game at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Women’s Lacrosse

Hamilton 15, O-State 5

Nicole Tetreault scored four goals and Audrey Nebergall had three as Hamilton earned a non-conference victory on the road.

The Red Dragons had a 26-24 advantage in shots, but Hamilton’s Kalley Greer made 10 saves.

Rachael Litts and Lauren Portnoy scored two goals apiece to pace O-State, which trailed, 9-4, at halftime.

Oneonta hosts Rochester at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Kelsey Campbell had four goals and two assists, but visiting Hartwick lost a non-conference game.

Katie Weber and Shardae Gonsalves scored four goals apiece for Skidmore.

Jamie Boulton contributed three goals and two assists for the Hawks (0-3), who play Potsdam in West Palm Beach, Fla., on Sunday.
