Area offers mega-bucks for hunting
On Tuesday, I had the opportunity to do some traveling around the area. My journey took me from West Oneonta to New Berlin and Columbus. From there I headed down Route 8 to Sidney, then onto I-88 to Harpursville and continued south to Windsor. Before returning home, I went over the hills to Port Crane. Then, I headed back to West Oneonta. During that morning, there were eight dead deer along the highways.


Season on the line
They are the bulls behind the dogs' success. And the dogs of Delhi will confirm that's no bull. Just ask last Sunday's top dog Mike Barnes, a junior receiver who made two acrobatic touchdown catches at Syracuse's Carrier Dome to lead the Delhi football team to its first state championship appearance.


Reserve leads 'Jackets
Megan Nader came off the bench to score 12 points in leading host Oneonta High to a season-opening girls basketball victory on Thursday night. Nader scored 10 points in the first half, helping the Yellowjackets to a 45-33 defeat of Niskayuna in the first round of the Anthony C. Drago Tournament. "She really broke the game open for us," OHS coach Bob Zeh said of Nader. "She shot 6-for-7 for the game."
