High School Boys Basketball — Section Four Class B Tournament
Call it a mulligan, do-over, second chance — whatever. The point is that Oneonta High's boys are in a position to finish something they could not a year ago.

Oneonta High senior Geoff Bean had to choose between three sports as well as a number of college suitors. Football and Colgate University turned out to be the perfect marriage for Bean, who announced Thursday he'll play either defensive back or wide receiver for the Division I-AA program.

Locals bear hunting adventure in Russia

Hunting is a passion that dwells deep within us, and often the thirst for adventure takes us to the four corners of the world. A couple of years ago, I was stranded by ice at the Chicago Airport for nearly 10 hours and ran into a fellow who just returned from Mongolia. He had been hunting Argali sheep with a bow-and-arrow.

Afton senior Josh Winans will be the featured attraction for Saturday's Midstate Athletic Conference basketball title games. The Indians' point guard has scored more points than any player in the area despite being all of 5-foot-1.
