A new era for the Hartwick College men's soccer program is about to begin. The Hawks are coming off a 9-7-3 season, but many of the people responsible for that record are gone. Most notable among the departures was Jim Lennox, who stepped down in January after coaching the team for 27 seasons.

ONEONTA Tracey Ranieri's past, present and future came together for about an hour Thursday. She had reason to smile about all of it. ONEONTA Robert Evans turned a pitcher's ballpark into a designated hitter's paradise Wednesday night at Damaschke Field. Evans' fifth-inning grand slam sent the Oneonta Tigers to their fourth straight loss in the New York-Penn League as the Lowell Spinners took the first game of a double-header, 8-2.
McGraw resigns as Hawks coach
Hartwick men's basketball coach Tim McGraw resigned Wednesday after five seasons. McGraw, 38, went 45-79 (.363) during his tenure. He also played at Hartwick from 1984-88 and is the school's all-time leading scorer with 1,878 points. The school reported McGraw has accepted a job with the Gordon B. Roberts Agency, an insurance firm in Oneonta.

ONEONTA Mark Ready performed a splendid rendition of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" during the seventh-inning stretch Monday. But the 4-year-old son of Oneonta Tigers manager Randy Ready was about the only one affiliated with the O-Tigers who had a good day.
